Michigan, Close Your Primary

By Jen Kuznicki On July 11, 2011 · 10911 Commenthttp%3A%2F%2Fjenkuznicki.com%2F2011%2F07%2Fmichigan-close-your-primary%2FMichigan%2C+Close+Your+Primary2011-07-11+08%3A20%3A43Jen+Kuznickihttp%3A%2F%2Fjenkuznicki.com%2F%3Fp%3D1091

We must close our primary in Michigan.  It is a falsehood to believe that open primaries are better than closed primaries.

With the elections of 2010, it is obvious that Republicans can convince the populace that our ideas are better than the Democrats.   As Republicans, how can we believe that with a majority in [...]

The American People made it clear in this last election cycle that they want the credit cards shredded and the Obama car taken back. Obama and the democratic congress have refused to listen to the American People. The Republicans will.

Michigan Leadership Still In The Dark

By Jen Kuznicki On January 31, 2011 · 5421 Commenthttp%3A%2F%2Fjenkuznicki.com%2F2011%2F01%2Fmichigan-leadership-still-in-the-dark%2FMichigan+Leadership+Still+In+The+Dark2011-01-31+12%3A33%3A26Jen+Kuznickihttp%3A%2F%2Fjenkuznicki.com%2F%3Fp%3D542

With all the excitement of Michigan becoming a red state, and the Republican Party holding their convention over the weekend, I hoped it would have been a happy, festive atmosphere. But all I had to do was see the first name board at the Amway Grand Plaza/DeVos Center, and I started thinking. And the more [...]

The Stupak Lesson

By Jen Kuznicki On December 29, 2010 · 4372 Commentshttp%3A%2F%2Fjenkuznicki.com%2F2010%2F12%2Fthe-stupak-lesson%2FThe+Stupak+Lesson2010-12-29+16%3A16%3A29Jen+Kuznickihttp%3A%2F%2Fjenkuznicki.com%2F%3Fp%3D437

The story of Stupak’s political demise is summed up by this lesson. That elected representatives cannot use social issues to get elected and then bastardize them for political expediency. Stupak would never have been elected if he was pro-abortion and anti-gun, in the end, he was evicted by the sentiment of his constituency.

Yes, but what kind of Republican Delegate are you?

I got a phone call from the Republican Party yesterday, they were having a survey for delegates to the Convention.

It was a robo call, and the first question was, “What best describes you? Press 1 for social conservative, press 2 for fiscal conservative, press 3 for tea party patriot, and press 4 for big [...]

The Conservative Argument Against Senator Jason Allen

Of the six Republican candidates running for U.S. Congress for Michigan’s First District, one is clearly not a conservative. That candidate is Senator Jason Allen.

At a meeting with local Republicans, I asserted that government must get out of the way of business in order to create jobs. With Michigan in a downward spiral for [...]

Thanks to Jason Allen for Saving us from Jason Allen

Senator Jason Allen has sponsored a bill that unionized home help care workers.    He got trounced by the grassroots, the Mackinac Center for Public Policy, his Republican opponents who are running for U.S. House of Representatives in Michigan’s First District, and the tea party movement.

The Senior Citizens and Veteran Affairs Committee approved [...]

Sarah Palin is scheduled to campaign for John McCain in Arizona in March to defend his senate seat.  I think it is a bad idea.

Now, before anybody starts hollering at me about how I’m a Palin basher, let me give you a little insight into how I feel about her.  I wrote [...]

The Problem With The Republican Party Right Now

The problem with Republicans and their campaigns is that they don’t inspire people.

Tonight I sat and listened to a man who is running to be my representative.  The guy who spoke to us this evening has a non-ethnic name.  I know one can’t do much about his name, but it does seem well, milktoast.  [...]
