I for one think the Tea Party vote in Michigan spoke loud and strong in 2010 and if left to make up their own mind no matter how weak and feeble some seem to think tea party voters have, I think they will do just fine again in 2012 voting in a Constitutional Conservative and voting out a dangerous, progressive, liberal like Debbie Stabenow. Konetchy already demonstrated his backbone and leadership with this situation, while others showed us their character in this whole thing without naming names. I think it's pretty much so a non issue in the overall 2012 campaign but thank you Jen for summing it up. As I side note, I did find one gentleman who is an opportunist, comical by his involvement in this thing trying to impress his "importance" upon the rest of us Jen. I never really heard of this clown before and only spoke to him once which justified my opinion of him being a legend in his own mind when actually he was quite ignorant and slightly offensive. Politics bring out some real honeys out of the woodwork!

Just one disagreement with you Jen. The nation/constitution wasn't founded on the goodness of the individual. It was founded on the Christian worldview that man is corrupt per Adam's original sin. The Founders thought long and hard how they could create a government that would have the least opportunity of becoming tyrannical because they understood human nature. As long as we followed the Constitution, we maintained our liberty. As has been reported by the likes of Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, Glenn Beck, etc., Progressives have been working to dismantle or undermine the Constitution for a 100 years.

We tried to send a message to the Republican Establishment in 2006. They ignored it and got shellacked. Then they gave us the faux choice between Romney and McCain in 2008 and still almost succeeded against the uber-liberal Obama. 2010 was a clear message that conservatives are tired of the me-too RINOs while watching the economy and our liberties in the death-spiral. In 2012, it is clear the GOP is not interested in halting the decline, only in being in charge when it comes to a screeching halt.

And I suppose to join them that I must also alter my views of the Tea Party movement as a group of strong individuals respectful of others thoughts and rights, open to intelligent discussion of the issues with the use of logical persuasion to attempt to influence support for candidates who share their philosophy. Individuals who, for the most part, will not join in lockstep with conventional political organizations, won't be dictated to, directed, nor categorized as a caucus. It sounds like they may want me to think of the Tea Party folks I know as Large Lemmings blindly following the dictates of MI4CS.
Should I engage with them? Should I support them? Should I obey them?
Decisions, decisions. Per Paul Simon, "when you have to choose, you can only lose" Guess I wil choose not to lose.

Well presented and analyzed, Jen, Kudos. Yet many questions remain.
What is the makeup of MI4CS? Is it a group? Do they have members? Does MI4CS offer membership cards? If so, what do they look like and what do they say? Are there dues, if so how much? Is there an initiation? Hazing, too? Are there uniforms, and if so, do they supply them or would I have to buy my own? Are there rankings for members? How about titles? Are the high ranking members paid? If so how much? (If it is enough I may decide to join up!) And lastly, to prove my loyaty, do I have to renouce my affiliation with any other Tea Parties, Political Parties, Superbowl Parties, and Birthday Parties? These are obviously important questions requiring answers.
